Fort Simpson police are investigating a recent fire in the community they are calling “suspicious.”

The fire was in the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 22 at a home on 100th Street.

According to a news release, firefighters contained the damage to a new attached unit at a duplex.

RCMP did not say what elements indicated the fire was suspicious, only that they are investigating along with the territorial fire marshal.

“This is the second suspicious fire at this location in less than two months and remains an active investigation,” reads the release.
