Heat warning issued for Fort Liard, Fort Simpson, Wrigley

The next few days in the NWT are getting hotter and hotter.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the communities of Fort Liard, Fort Simpson and Wrigley – this includes Nahanni Butte and Jean Marie River.

Over the next few days, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 29 degrees celsius.

Extreme heat can cause illness; residents are asked to stay hydrated, wear loose clothes and minimize outdoor time.
