Young Behchokǫ̀ man died in crash on Highway 3

A 22-year-old man from Behchokǫ̀ died at the scene of a crash on Highway 3 early Sunday morning, according to RCMP.

In a news release, police say they received a call about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday of a crash near marker 253.

Officers arrived on scene with Behchokǫ̀ EMS, which brought three of the four people that were in the car for further medical treatment.

The release says Behchokǫ̀ RCMP is investigating the incident along with the territory’s coroner services.

Police say no one is in custody and they haven’t laid any charges so far.

RCMP is reminding motorists to put on their seat belt when driving.
