Second ferry closes due to high water levels

The MV Johnny Berens ferry on the Mackenzie River at the N’dulee crossing has closed.

Earlier this week, the department of Infrastructure tweeted that the MV Lafferty on the Liard River closed.

Both closures are due to high water levels and debris and neither have a timeline for when operations will resume.

Residents can check the status of ferries at the department’s highway conditions map.
