Yesterday evening, Fort Smith RCMP asked residents to stay inside as a “situation was unfolding.”

That situation turned out to be the arrest of a one youth in connection to an armed robbery.

In a news release, police said two youths have been arrested for the robbery.

Police first received a call about the robbery in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

RCMP arrested the first youth early Tuesday afternoon.

The second was arrested Tuesday evening near Calder Avenue and Wilderness Road.

RCMP did not say why police asked residents to stay inside nor what was stolen

CKLB will be following up and update when we receive more information.
