RCMP charge Inuvik man after assault

Inuvik RCMP have charged Dustin Travis Rogers, 24, following an assault in the community on Wednesday.

According to a news release, police responded to a call at a residence shortly before 8 a.m.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, checked himself into the local hospital. He was then transferred to Edmonton to treat a “serious, but non-life-threatening injury,” according to police.

Police did not specify the nature of the injury or the weapon used, and the investigation is ongoing.

Dustin Rogers is schedule to appear in court in Inuvik on January 21.
