Plane makes emergency landing at Yk Airport

A woman was listed in stable condition after a flight made an emergency landing at Yellowknife Airport Friday after she had gone into medical distress.

According to a news release from RCMP, a Delta Airlines flight was en route from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Seattle when it made an emergency landing at Yellowknife Airport at about 2:00 in the afternoon.

Police state that a female passenger was in medical distress and needed emergency care.

She was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital and was in stable condition.

Mounties state that all other passengers were safe and the plane resumed its flight around 2:30 PM.

The Yellowknife Airport Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Response team and the Canadian Border Services Agency attended the scene along with Yellowknife RCMP.
