Yellowknife RCMP Lay Human Trafficking and Drug Charges

Yellowknife RCMP have launched a human trafficking and drug investigation following a tip from Saskatoon Police.

Police made contact last week with an adult female who made them aware she was concerned for her safety.

While investigating who was responsible for transporting the female into Yellowknife, it was determined the men were also transporting cocaine into the city.

RCMP executed search warrants on Friday, discovering 729 individual bags of crack cocaine and one ounce of powdered cocaine in two hotel rooms.

4 men are being held for drug trafficking charges, with Jonathan Ouellet-Gendron of Montreal also being held for human trafficking charges.
