Yellowknife man faces assault charges

A man arrested in Yellowknife over the weekend is appearing in court over assault charges. Twenty year old Tevin McNeely is facing four charges including aggravated assault. McNeely is also being charged with forcible confinement, uttering threats and failure to comply with a probation order.

Yellowknife RCMP responded to a call last Friday regarding an injured female. The female victim told allegedly officers that she had been assaulted in the Bison Hill Apartment building. The victim also says that she had been detained from leaving the apartment during the day. Medical Services transported the victim to Stanton Hospital for medical attention.

McNeely made his first appearance in Territorial Court Tuesday morning.
