Wolf Trapping and Snaring Workshop Returns to Yellowknife and Delta

A Wolf Trapping and Snaring Workshop run by ENR has returned to the north, passing through Yellowknife this Monday and Tuesday.

The workshop saw 7 participants in the capital who had a chance to learn about baiting wolves, trapping and snaring them and preparing their pelts for auction among other skills.

The workshop not only potentially helps with introducing you to the fur market, but can help keep you, your kids and especially your pets safe as instructor Scott McQueen pointed out.

Years ago when there was a lot of active trappers we didn’t have as many wolf problems around communities like in Tsiigehtchic where they’re coming in and killing dogs.

The workshop continues on to Inuvik, Fort McPherson and Aklavik starting yesterday and running to December 15.
