Four people are in Stanton Hospital after a vehicle collision over the weekend.

On Saturday morning, Fort Providence and Fort Simpson RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on highway 1.

A transport trailer struck a minivan from behind. The driver of the minivan received non-life threatening injuries while three passengers sustained minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.

RCMP say that poor visibility was a major factor due to heavy blowing snow, but the investigation is ongoing. Police also say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor at this time.
