Spuds in Gameti

Potato Field in Gameti

What a year in potatoes for Gameti. The harvest was very substantial.

Gardener Stella Quitte says it was really an amazing haul of spuds after the initial harvest.

”  We did harvest mostly just potatoes from the greenhouse. Of the potatoes we took out of the

greenhouse, we gave all of the potatoes to the local people here in Gameti.”

Quitte says that they had well over 100 bags that were ten pounds each.

She believes over 1,200 pounds of potatoes have been harvested.

And, the harvest is not finshed, according to Quitte.

There are still peas to harvest and more potatoes.
