Single Service Window Centres are expanding

The GNWT is making it easier to access government services such as Canada pension and employment insurance.

Single Service Centres in Tuktayuktuk, Fort Liard and Fort Providence are expanding their services.

Premier Bob McLeod is optimistic about the pilot project.

“It’s been a very successful program. There’s been a strong demand for expansion and we’re hoping to do that. The plans were by the third year of this government we would expand. We’re even getting requests to expand them to the larger centres because this is good information for seniors and elders to make sure they apply and get all the benefits they are entitled to.”

Services are at the Fort Liard Hamlet office, Fort Providence Snowshow Inn and the Tuktoyaktuk government building. GNWT employees are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 5pm.

CORRECTION: The article previously stated “Tuktayuktuk, Fort Liard and Fort Providence are now home to Single Service Window Centres.” Service Centres are already located in these communities but availability is expanding.
