Norman Wells search ends in tragedy

The person in charge of the search in Norman Wells confirms the body of Howard Blondin, who went missing in the community last week, was found over the weekend.

Search and rescue discovered Blondin’s body in the Mackenzie River near the Coast Guard wharf on Saturday.

RCMP found Blondin’s helmet and ATV in the Mackenzie River near the community dock.

The search was extended on July 19.

RCMP have not replied to a request for comment.
