New Chair appointed at the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board

Mavis Cli-Michaud is the new Chair of the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board. She is from Fort Simpson.

Cli-Michaud was appointed to the three year term on Friday by Indigenous and Northern Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett.

Violet Camsell-Blondin was acting chair of the land water board over the last year.

Established under the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act, the MVLWB is responsible for issuing land and water licenses across the NWT.

In a press release, NWT MP Michael McLeod and Executive Director of the Board Rebecca Chouinard congratulated Cli-Michaud on her appointment.
