Kakfwi Facing 7 Charges After Stand-off in Fort Good Hope

RCMP have released the name of the suspect in last Friday’s shooting in Fort Good Hope.
49 year old Tony Kakfwi (Kahk-Fwee) is due in Yellowknife court today, stemming from last week’s 2 and half hour stand off.
Kakfwi is facing a total of seven charges including: Discharging a Firearm with Intent,  Carrying a Weapon While Attending Public Meeting, two counts of Uttering Threats,Careless Use of Firearm, Possession of aWeapon for Dangerous Purpose, and Using a Firearm in Commission of Offense.

Kakfwi fired off shots outside a community meeting last Friday, before barricading himself in the community senior’s complex. No one was injured during the incident.
