Inuvik youth are hitting the ice!

Six speed skaters from Yellowknife and Inuvik will compete in the NWT Territorial Championships at the Multiplex on Saturday, March 11th and 12th.

Fourteen year old Dalton McLeod and fifteen year old Braeden Picek are representing Inuvik at this weekends competition.

“We’ve been training for about six months. Pretty much everyday, at least two times a day. I’ve always been doing sports. I’ve been skating for at least six years. I guess I like working hard. I think speed skating is the most fun way of doing it.”

McLeod and Picek are also heading to the Canada West Championships in Saskatoon on Saturday, March 18th.
