A meeting will be held today at the Chief Drygeese building in Dettah to discuss the future of Giant Mine.

Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada Deputy Project Director, Natalie Plato explains the purpose of this meeting.

“Over the past two years we’ve been engaging with all the public and stakeholders on what the future of the surface of Giant Mine will look like when remediation is complete. Tomorrow we will report back to all the people who participated and what key decisions we are making,” Plato told CKLB.

Six options on what to do with the site after remediation were discussed last year.

The meeting is open to the public and starts at 9.30 AM.
