Fort Simpson Winter Festival Launches

Fort Simpson has kicked off its annual winter festival.

The Beavertail Jamboree opened Sunday and launched with a chili cook-off, family slide party and fireworks.

Fort Simpson Recreation Co-ordinator, Nathan McPherson says, the festival has been running for over forty years  and is an event Fort Simpson residents look forward to attending.

Throughout the week the festival will have several activities that include snowmobile races, traditional games, talent shows, sports, bingo and drum dancing.

The Beavertail Jamboree will run until Saturday.
