The Town Council of Norman Wells informed its residents on Friday 2300 meters of pipe need to be replaced on the Enbridge pipeline.

Drilling should begin early August with an expected completion in October. Enbridge pipeline at the Mackenzie crossing near Fort Simpson is shut down since last November.

Enbridge warns residents that this timeframe is dependent on many factors including geotechnical analysis, regulatory approvals and support from their primary shipper.
