This project is organized by Western Arctic Moving Pictures and Hands on Media. They are today in Whati, after a workshop last week at Kaw Tay Whee School in Dettah.

Jessie Curell, the Director of Hands on Media, is the main instructor.

“We’re using photography and different Ipads and Imovie, video editing software, and so they are able to weave together a personal narrative about a story of their choice, about their community, about their own lives.”

Six communities in total will be part of this project. Inuvik, Deline, Fort Smith and Fort Simpson are next! Photos are being published on Instagram regularly.
