23 high school students from across the Dehcho were part of Aurora College‘s Trades Awareness Program last week, in Fort Smith.

The students got a crash course into carpentry skills, electrician work, heavy equipment technician training, camp cook skills, and plumbing.

Jerry Wald, Chair of the college’s School of trades, apprenticeships and Industrial training says the program that has been running since 2005 gives students a first hand look at what it takes to be successful.

Student from across the South Slave region will be attending the program at the Thebacha Campus this week.
