The Northern Arts and Cultural Centre in Yellowknife will present a Series for Canada’s 150th birthday.

Marie Coderre, its Executive and Artistic Director chose five words defining Canada for this Series. The words are place, family, world, history and emerging artists. The first word “place” will be represented by an indigenous show on the 11th of February.

“It will start with Cris Derksen who is an Indigenous cellist. She will come with fifteen musicians to present her fantastic project called the Powwow Orchestra. It will be followed by a modern dance group called Kaha:wi Dance Theatre who are going to present the show called Neoindigena” explained Marie Coderre to CKLB.

The full program of this Series is available on NACC’s website.
