Justice Louise Charbonneau will decide whether to charge the accused as a youth or adult. The parents of the accused gave an emotional plea in Yellowknife Supreme Court yesterday morning.

The accused appeared in court and spoke of his remorse while blaming his sister’s death and dependency on alcohol as reasons for the attack. Justice Charbonneau acknowledged the emotional impact that the case has had on Fort Good Hope.

She says a decision will be made by March 21st unless the case is delayed until April 20th.
