There are five candidates in the election race for chief in Fort Good Hope.

Linda Edgi, Lawrence Jackson, John Louison Sr., and Frank T’selie Sr. are all challenging current Kasho Gotine chief Wilfred McNeely Junior.

Returning officer Dakota Erutse says there’s 22 candidates running for the nine seats on council.

“From my understanding it’s a significant number, with quite a mix of candidates in age ranges,” Erutse told CKLB last week after nominations closed.

There will be an advanced poll on July 10th. Election day is Monday July 17.
