The Tlicho government has started a camp and daily visits to Whitebeach Point. Chief Clifford Daniels believes the community interest will be significant.

“It’s been a while since we’ve done this, I think there will be interest there for people who want to go there and see the area, especially our elders,” said Daniels.

All passengers must register with Marilyn Martin at at the Tchco Government DCLP Land’s Office. The camp and visits run until July the 13th.

The camp is to increase presence in the area. Since 2014 oil companies such as Husky have been interested in the silica sand located in the area.
