Water deliveries suspended over weekend in Whati

Whati Public Notice (Submitted by Community Government of Whati)

Whati’s Water Treatment Plant will be shutdown over the weekend.

Senior Administrative Officer, Lisa Nitsiza says the shutdown was planned for this weekend with many community members expected to attend the Handgame Tournament in Behchoko.

“We’re working with the drivers for delivering as much water as they can today and Friday to ensure the community will have all their water,” explained Nitsiza.

The community’s two water trucks and fire truck will have water in case of any emergencies over the weekend.

With no deliveries available, Nitsiza offered these tips to conserve water.

“Laundry is a big water user, and limit your showers,” added Nitsiza.

The water plant is expected to be up and running on Monday.
